A New Adventure
I had a baby 19 days ago. Meaning I’ve been a mom for 19 days. 19 days! That is how long it has taken me to truly see this for what it is. I have a daughter. I am someone’s mother. Never will I not wonder about, worry about, encourage, or love this little being. Those are some deep thoughts to be going through a sleepless mind.
I never intended this blog to be about parenthood. With that said, I never fully intended to be a parent. Nevertheless, here I sit, with a hiccuping baby glued to my chest, my hair in one loose knot on the top of my head, and I’m not quite sure what day it is. But hey, at least I’ve scored a shower every single one of the past 19 days (two when I’ve been lucky!). My point being, as a girl who is (as much as she wishes she wasn’t) fairly regimented, loves schedules, and to do lists, I have learned one very important lesson thus far. And that is to let go of all preconceived notions and see where the adventures take us. Much like riding my bicycle ;)
So, while this blog will be taking on a somewhat new form - one including my daily musings as a mum - do not fret. She Rides Her Bike will still be about a girl and her bike(s), only now she’s got a tiny sidekick. #andsheskickass
